Before being elected as an NDP MP in October 2015, Brigitte Sansoucy was a regional development advisor in Quebec’s Department of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food and director general of Auberge du cœur le Baluchon. She has dedicated the past 25 years of her life to working in a community setting and toward the social, economic and community development of her region. She has also been a municipal councillor of Saint-Hyacinthe since 2009.
Brigitte has a bachelor’s degree in business administration and a master’s degree in public administration. Her education, paired with her community outreach and professional experience in regional development, makes her an experienced and knowledgeable leader in the region.
Before coming to Ottawa, she sat on several boards of directors and was involved in numerous organizations – including Nuit des sans-abris, the Corporation de développement communautaire des Maskoutains and the Comité de Bassin Versant du ruisseau des Salines, which she helped found. The environment, youth and the economic development of her region are priorities for Brigitte. Her community outreach has garnered her numberous awards and recognitions.
Brigitte lives in a country home in Saint-Hyacinthe with her spouse and has four children. She is ready to work to get results for the constituents of Saint-Hyacinthe—Bagot, which she already does every day.
As part of the NDP team, Brigitte will continue to deliver results for her region as the MP for Saint-Hyacinthe—Bagot.
